YouTube star of MayBaby warns teens not to text and drive




The dangers of texting while driving are obvious, yet distracted drivers still account for far too many car wrecks — especially among teens.

A report from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that 15% of drivers between the ages of 15 and 18 admitted to having been distracted by a phone while driving. In 2013, accidents involving distracted drivers killed 3,154 people and injured an estimated 424,000.

That’s why the nonprofit Ad Council has enlisted 20-year-old YouTube star Meg DeAngelis to remind her 4 million-strong audience that texting behind the wheel should never be an option. Read more…
