Univision adds yet another subscription streaming service to the fray




If it’s unbundling we wanted, it’s unbundling that we’re getting.

Univision launched a streaming subscription service on Monday, asking $5.99 a month for access to its live broadcasts as well as some on-demand content.

“In addition to our robust TV Everywhere offering for pay TV subscribers, we now have a solution for our viewers who watch our networks over the air. Our goal is to serve all U.S. Hispanics,” said Tonia O’Connor, president of distribution and development for Univision.


The service, also available for $59.99 a year, features live streams of the main Univision channel as well as its sister network UniMás. Univision’s primetime content will be available on demand for a week after airing, along with a three-day DVR on live streams, although not all content will be available on those options. Read more…
