President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised Ghanaians that high electricity tariffs would go down from next year.

According to the President, the 2018 budget, which would be read later this week, would contain some good news on that front.

Electricity tariffs have been on a steady climb the past few years, reaching unbearable levels for most Ghanaians.

Speaking  at the 6th Association of Ghana Industries’ ‘Industry and Quality Awards’ held over the weekend, the President said the move would provide relief to industry.

“In the budget to be read by the brilliant Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, on Wednesday, 15th November, I am sure you will hear some good news, in this regard. Industry is going to be given all the assistance we can muster.” he promised.
