During the parade of over 50 suspects, the spokesman for the State Command, Ahmad Mohammad, said 137 assorted arms and ammunition, stolen cars and other items were recovered from the suspects.
Briefing reporters on Monday at the Police Headquarters in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Mr Mohammed explained that the suspects were nabbed few days ago.
He further stated that 10 suspects were reportedly killed in a gun battle with the police.
The arms and ammunition seized were paraded side by side with the suspected robbers, kidnappers and cultists, both young men and women.
One of the kidnapped persons said he was lucky to have been rescued by the police.
However, one of the suspects claimed he was a victim of circumstance.
As the police intensify its crackdown on crime and criminality in the state, there is the need however to ensure that innocent persons are not nabbed alongside genuine criminals.
