Judith Audu makes directorial debut with Mirabel

Judith Audu’s new short film “Mirabel” is an adaptation of a poem of the same title.

Nollywood actress Judith Audu has made her directorial debut with a new short film titled “Mirabel.”

Produced and directed by Audu, the movie is an adaptation of a poem of the same title, written by actor/TV Presenter, Moses Akerele, who also plays lead in “Mirabel.”

The short film also stars Omowunmi Dada, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Maimuna Yahaya, Naomi Ojochide Yahaya, Chris Iheuwa and Steve Enagbare.

The film also assembles a crew of talented young filmmakers such as Emmanuel Odihiri, Ibikunle ‘TSaint’ Ibitayo, Seun Afolabi and Osita ‘Ritzy’ Philip.


About new short film “Mirabel”

‘Mirabel’ is an intense emotional drama about love lost and love found. It follows the lives of two young lovebirds; Shawn (Moses Akerele) and Tonye (Omowunmi Dada) and how an unplanned pregnancy not only pulls them apart but totally ceases their world.

Not accepting the emptiness that comes with a separation, Shawn tries for five years to find something that can bring back happiness. Will he get it and will it make any significant difference?


Audu, who is popular for producing “Just Not Married,” “Obsession,” and “Stormy Hearts,” is excited to show her talent as a director.

“This is a new terrain for me and I’m only too glad to take on the responsibility,” she said in an official statement.

“I’ve never been afraid of a challenge so I urge all my fans to look out for this short movie.”

According to the filmmaker, Judith Audu Productions have a lot in store for 2018.

No official release date has been revealed for “Mirabel.”

In 2016, Audu's “Just Not Married” was selected as one of the Nigerian movies to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival.
