Kelechi Iheanacho scored and made an assist for Leicester against West Bromwich Albion.
Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has stated that Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is not playing enough.
Kelechi has been named in Leicester’s Premier League matchday squad 21 times and made 15 appearances for the Foxes, 12 of which were from the bench.
According to a report by Goal, Rohr is of the opinion that the 21-year-old need more minutes as his 20 minutes cameo against Westbrom is not good enough.
“And let him now play a little bit more and I hope he does because it is not enough playing 20 minutes even if he scores he has to play more and I hope now he will have the opportunity to play other games and to be fit for our two friendlies.” Rohr said
Iheanacho created an assist and scored his first Premier League goal for Leicester as they defeated West Bromwich Albion 4-1 on Saturday, March 10.
Iheanacho is among the 28 players invited by Gernot Rohr is doing well, and despite his insufficient game time Rohr is impressed with his recent showing under Claude Puel.
“Kelechi is doing very well. I'm in touch with his coach – Claude Puel – he's a friend of mine.” Rohr continued.
Iheanacho has seen more playing time in the FA Cup where he holds the record as Nigeria’s top scorer in the tournament.
He is expected to part of the Leicester team when they take on Chelsea on Sunday, March 18 in a quarter final fixture of the FA Cup.
