‘If we didn’t fight, we’d be dead’: Lovers’ tiff saves couple from Paris terror attack


A quarrelling couple’s spat ended up saving them from the café attack during the reign of terror on France’s capital.

Quentin Bongard and his girlfriend were having a meal outside on the terrace of La Belle Equipe restaurant, but after an argument, they cut their evening short to leave early.

He left and his girlfriend went inside to settle the bill – that’s when the terrorists opened fire.

He said: ‘Luckily we fought because if we hadn’t, we would both be dead now.
