Eight students in a secondary school in Ogun state have been arrested for allegedly being members of a cult group.

Eight students in a secondary school in Ogun state have been arrested for allegedly being members of a cult group.

Premiumtimes have reported that the students, who were arrested in Kara area, Sagamu Local Government of the state, were nabbed during a cult initiation act. The students were aged 18 and below.

The Ogun police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, had this to say on the arrests.

The suspects, who were arrested by police operatives attached to Sagamu Division, with the help of members of Vigilante Services of Ogun state , were caught in the act of initiating one ….(16), another student of their school, Remo Divisional High School Kara Sagamu, in a nearby bush around the area on Friday at about 1200hrs.

Adejobi added that the arrest of the teenage suspects showed the determination of the Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, to eradicate cultism in the state.
