The vestiges of the late HID has finally berthed on the soil of Ogun State in south-west Nigeria on Monday, as the Governor received her body at the Sagamu interchange in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking in company of members of the State Executive Council and members of the Awolowo family, Governor Amosun eulogised the virtues of the late jewel of inestimable value.
Born November 25, 1915, Mama Awolowo died a little over two months to her 100th birthday.
A committee set up to see to her burial had earlier announced that the late Yeye Oodua would be finally buried on the occasion of her posthumous Centenary birthday anniversary on November 25, at the Awolowo family house in Ikenne.
According to the family, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, that of the Later Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, as well as 60 other Anglican Bishops are among several other ministers of God billed to participate in the 11-day burial programme culminating in the final internment of the late HID Awolowo.
