President Muhammadu Buhari has left Nigeria for New York, United States, to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
According to Channels TV, the President departed Abuja this morning, September 17, 2017.
He was said to have been accompanied to the US by some ministers, whose names were not mentioned.
It was gathered that at the General Assembly, the President would participate in the general debate, during which he will deliver the country's national statement.
The theme for this year's debate is: “Focusing On People: Striving For Peace And A Decent Life For All On A Sustainable Planet.”
Buhari is also expected to discuss the repatriation of Nigeria's stolen funds when he takes the podium on Monday, September 18.
