Tooting Broadway tube station evacuated by armed police after man 'threatens people with scissors'

Armed police have been called to Tooting Broadway Tube station after reports of a man wielding scissors.

Part of the northern line in south London was evacuated at around 1.30pm.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called to reports of a man, reportedly armed with scissors, threatening passengers on a train bound for Tooting Broadway underground station.
