Super Eagles beat Swaziland 2-0

The lawmaker urged Head Coach Sunday Oliseh not to rest on his oars, stressing that his backup plan should be solid.

A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Yinka Ogundimu, on Tuesday commended the Super Eagles‘ 2-0 win against Swaziland in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Ogundimu (APC-Agege II), member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the victory would boost the morale of the team and Nigerians.

“This victory is much expected; they have done very well. Nigerians were happy that our country will be participating in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“That win was a good one for us; it is going to lift up their spirit. There is no push over team these days; every team is important,” he said.

According to him, much needs to be done to qualify for the World Cup in the next round.

He said that the victory would sustain the interest of Nigerians in the nation’s national team.

The lawmaker urged Head Coach Sunday Oliseh not to rest on his oars, stressing that his backup plan should be solid.

He said that beside the main team, the coach should groom feeder team, urging for regular assessment of the team.

NAN reports that with the victory, Nigeria has advanced to the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers.

The match, held in Port Harcourt, was a return leg of the encounter between both countries as the first leg ended goalless draw in Swaziland.
