New York’s attorney general is asking a state court to shut down the daily fantasy industry’s two biggest companies
It’s the latest salvo of an ongoing regulatory battle over whether the sites should be legal.
FanDuel, which dominates the industry along with rival DraftKings, said in response that it will stop accepting paid contest entries from New York starting Tuesday afternoon — effectively shuttering most of its operations in the state for the time being
Eric Schneiderman, the New York attorney general, made the case in an injunction filed against each company on Tuesday morning that the daily fantasy set-up is no different from illegal gambling. Read more…
